  15. <p>     DEATH REVEALED. ELMAR KLOS, 83; Czech filmmaker; in Prague.
  16. Klos, who died in July, is best known for The Shop on Main Street,
  17. a 1965 film created with Jan Kadar. The film was one of the
  18. few in the Soviet bloc that dealt with the Nazis' persecution
  19. of Jews and was the first Czechoslovak film ever to win an Oscar.
  20. Klos' collaboration with writer and director Kadar ended when
  21. the latter emigrated to the West after the 1968 Soviet invasion.
